Norwegian Wool

Norwegian sheep have adapted over centuries to the Norwegian climate: cold, wet, and demanding. Their wool reflects this.

Norwegian wool is naturally water-resistant, remarkably durable, and insulating in ways that synthetic materials cannot replicate.

From Sheep To Shop — The Story Behind Our Norwegian Wool®

At Vingtor of Norway, we believe that quality begins with knowing where your wool comes from.

That's why we source our wool from Norway and follow its journey from the very beginning. Working with Fatland Wool near Stavanger, we are able to trace the wool from the sheep farms through every stage of production.

The journey starts when Norwegian sheep are sheared each spring, after spending their lives in the rugged Norwegian landscape. The wool is then carefully sorted, processed, spun, and woven in Lithuania. To highlight our commitment to traceability and Norwegian heritage, we have created our registered trademark Norwegian Wool®. This mark represents quality, authenticity, and a documented connection to Norway's proud wool traditions.

Our film, From Sheep To Shop, follows this remarkable journey step by step — from the sheep grazing in Norway's mountains and valleys to finished products hanging in stores and being shipped to customers around the world.

For us, wool is more than a raw material. It is a natural, renewable resource that carries a story of craftsmanship, sustainability, and Norwegian tradition.
